Position Overview
Rhythm & Blues Cambridge is seeking a passionate, energetic, and community-minded Youth Engagement Facilitator to support our summer programming and community events.
The Youth Engagement Facilitator will work closely with our Program Manager and Program Assistant to help facilitate summer camps, support youth engagement activities, assist with program development, and contribute to the success of our annual Emancipation Day Celebration.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with youth, supporting creative programming, and helping create welcoming and engaging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Summer Camp Support
● Support the facilitation and day-to-day operations of summer camp programming
● Assist with activity planning, setup, engagement, and supervision of youth participants
● Help create fun, safe, and inclusive spaces for children and youth
● Work collaboratively with staff to support camp structure and daily schedules
Program Development & Facilitation
● Support the development of youth-centered activities and programming ideas
● Assist with facilitating games, discussions, workshops, and creative activities
● Help encourage participation, teamwork, and positive engagement among youth
Emancipation Day Youth Zone Support
● Support planning and facilitation of youth activities during the Emancipation Day Celebration
● Help coordinate engagement activities, games, and interactive experiences within the Youth Zone
● Assist with event setup, participant support, and overall event flow
Volunteer & Team Support
● Help support volunteers in understanding their roles and responsibilities during camps and events
● Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure programming runs smoothly
● Assist with organization of materials and supplies
Reporting & Administrative Support
● Assist with gathering program feedback, attendance, and activity information
● Support the preparation of the final summer camp report for organizational reporting purposes
Qualifications
● Passion for working with youth and community
● Strong communication and teamwork skills
● Organized, reliable, and adaptable
● Comfortable working in fast-paced community environments
● Experience working with youth programs, camps, or events is an asset
● Creativity, leadership, and initiative are highly valued
● Lived experience and connection to community are considered assets
